This week we celebrated Children's book week. Each year across Australia, The Children's book council of Australia brings children and books together by celebrating Children’s Book Week. This week is used to celebrate Australian children's literature. At Inverloch childcare we teach children to value and respect books, books are a great resource as they promote language, imagination and pre-writing skills. For book week this year we had a dress up day were the children and educators dressed up as their favourite characters and even brought their favourite books along to share. We had a fun filled day of story reading and the Penguin children even created their own story with knights, fairies and dragons, whilst the turtle children celebrated their current favourite book by creating their own green sheep. The children also enjoyed some face painting and did a wonderful job painting some of our educators faces. We were also lucky enough to have Jo from the Inverloch library came and read some stories to us.
